Abstracts submitted for oral and poster presentations at the ASH annual meeting represent important, novel research in the field and are considered the best of the thousands of abstracts submitted. Typically, more than 5,000 scientific abstracts are submitted each year and more than 3,000 abstracts are accepted for oral and poster presentations through an extensive peer review process.

Abstract categories, reviewed and updated annually to respond to trends and cover new areas, include:

• The addition of a new category, “MGUS, Amyloidosis and Other Non-Myeloma Plasma Cell Dyscrasias: Clinical and Epidemiological” (654), which focuses on clinical and epidemiological studies as well as prospective clinical trials in MGUS, amyloidosis, and other non-myeloma plasma cell dyscrasias.
• An update making all abstracts covering innovative Trials in Progress (TiPs; trials that have not reached the primary endpoint) eligible for submission. Abstracts containing endpoint data submitted as TiPs will be deemed ineligible and withdrawn from consideration. TiP submissions will only be considered as poster presentations and those accepted will be mounted on posterboards with special signage, making them easily identifiable within their larger scientific category.

The Plenary Scientific Session, which includes the top six abstracts as selected by the Program Committee, is traditionally a highlight of the annual meeting program.

Abstract Submission for 2023 ASH Annual Meeting

The abstract submission site for this year’s annual meeting, taking place December 9-12 in San Diego and virtually, is now closed. Late-breaking abstract submissions will open on October 17, 2023.
